About Michael Hanley

Michael Hanley is recognized as one of the foremost experts in the field of Entity Selection. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, and the author of three small business accounting books, Choosing the Right Structure for Your Business, Effective Tax Planning for the MicroBusiness, and Why You Should Incorporate Your Real Estate Business. His expert opinions are frequently published in media outlets across the country such as Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, LA Times, Chicago Tribune, Newsday, Long Island Business News, Accounting Crossing, BrandWeek, and USAA Magazine among others. 

As the Managing Partner of the NY CPA Firm Merl & Hanley LLP and the founder of Corp-4-U, the first incorporation service to feature a CPA working alongside licensed attorneys in order to offer low-cost incorporation services, Hanley has successfully counseled hundreds of small businesses as to which type of business structure best fits their business and tax needs.

Michael lives in Kings Park, NY with his wife, son, and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

Mitchell York is a credentialed Professional Certified Coach and entrepreneur dedicated to helping corporate executives in mid-life renew their lives through small-business ownership.

His corporate career spanned 20+ years and included senior executive positions with high-growth companies. He was president of LendingTree.com in its startup phase, creating processes and procedures to help the company position itself for rapid growth and mentoring its young management team and work force. Later, he was president of NetCreations Inc. (now ReturnPath), a leading email marketing company, where he built the executive management team and positioned the company for a successful acquisition.

Mitch was the founding publisher of TechWeb, the first technology website to sell advertising, and vice president and founder of the Internet division of CMP Media Inc., an international media company. At CMP for 17 years, Mitch published some of the nation’s largest technology newspapers and magazines. He also was senior vice president of Ziff Davis Media where he published InteractiveWeek, one of the pioneering newspapers covering e-commerce.

In late 2001, Mitch left corporate America to start his own business ventures. Since then, Mitch has worked with over 100 clients in his coaching practice. He is a certified graduate of CoachU, the world’s largest and most respected coach training institution, and has received the Professional Certified Coach credential from the International Coach Federation. Mitch is also an executive coach for ClientWise LLC, a training and coaching company in the financial services industry, and a certified career and job-search coach for the leading job- and career-counseling firm, The Five O’Clock Club.

Mitch’s own E2E adventure is a fast-growing specialty catering business. He started it by developing a new business model for a franchise that had been in business for more than 25 years. The model he created has blossomed into the most profitable business segment the franchise offers. Mitch has coached and trained hundreds of franchise owners in his best practices.

Mitch received an M.B.A. from Columbia University and a B.A. with honors in English from Northwestern University.

Mitch lives in Sayville, N.Y., with Stacey, his wife of 23 years, and their three children.

 

Michael Thomas is the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Solution Development of Shoreline Records Management, Inc.  In his capacity, Mike directs the firms Project-Based initiatives for large, global organizations.  Mike’s industry expertise is in Financial Services and he is leading the Company’s rollout, of Advanced Capture Technology and Consulting & Business Process Improvement Services, to the Global 2000.  Mike is a subject matter expert in Advanced Capture and Workflow, specifically in the lending and securities markets.

He is a Husband and the Father of Four Awesome Kids. When he’s not either working or spending time with his family, he is probably working with technology (iPhone, Blogging), learning about Business and Marketing, Watching Football or reading something obscure that would be of little interest to the general public.

As a Hubspot Certified Professional (which is a really cool title that means he knows how to get the most out of a really useful tool), Mike really enjoys working on Internet marketing projects, and believes that inbound marketing is one of the most valuable tools that most businesses simply don’t take advantage of.
